Submissions Guidelines

Why submit?

Help grow this community! Your thoughts, experiences, and unique perspective will help inform, inspire, and connect the community of both trail workers and trail users alike. Your story may just inspire someone to pursue a career in trails, or may change the way someone sees their everyday trails in their backyard.

Who can submit content?

Anyone can submit content! Whether you’ve worked for decades as a trail worker, or you’re a trail user with a unique insight or perspective into trails. If you have a story, photos, or art relating to trails that you would like to share, this platform exists to share it.

What can I submit?

Stories, essays, art, photography, poetry, you name it. Written content should be no longer than 3,000 words. Please include all credit for images and confirm permission from image owners or other collaborators before submitting. Names of individuals and organizations can be changed or removed to protect identities of authors and/or subjects as necessary. Submission is not a guarantee of publication. Ideally, photos should be at least 1080 pixels wide. If you're not sure about photo sizing, don't worry about it :)

How do I do it?

Please submit content via THIS FORM (requires Google Account)

Submissions can also be emailed to trailcrewstories@gmail.com.

Please tag @trailcrewstories and #trailcrewstories on IG to be shared on social!

Can I get paid for my content?

I wish I could pay for submissions, but as a self-funded project (on meager trail worker wages) that’s beyond my budget at this point in time. However, sharing your work on Trail Crew Stories may attract attention from third-party publications that do offer compensation and is a great opportunity to grow your portfolio.

I am happy to plug your organization, website, business, social media, etc in any submitted story.
